Here are some of the more common questions that people ask us about hypnosis:
Can I Be Hypnotized?
In our experience, as long as you understand what is being said and that you follow instructions, you will be hypnotized. It does not matter whether you have had coffee, are stressed or even tired you can be hypnotized. It has nothing to do with having a strong will or intelligence. Hypnosis is a naturally occuring phenomena that everyone can experience.
How Many Sessions Will it Take?
This varies from issue to issue. There are some who claim that only a single session is required to resolve your issue, but our experience shows us the opposite. We have found that higher success rates are achieved through multiple sessions.
Claiming that Hypnosis fixes every single issue in a single session not only does a disservice to the name of Hypnosis but it also does to clients too. Multiple sessions means we can monitor your progress and make adjustments and improvements as required. Even though we can usually resolve issues like smoking in a single session we ALWAYS include a second session.
What A Session Looks Like
What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. Because it is not sleep you will be aware at all times. Its just that it WILL feel different from sleep AND different from your normal waking state. Its completely safe and natural and you can’t get stuck there. When in hypnosis you are not powerless or under the control of someone else. Will I lose control When Under Hypnosis?
No. This is a common misconception about hypnosis. Nobody can be hypnotized against their will. Hypnosis is not about control by the hypnotist. It is about working together so that the you can be empowered to create change in your life. Nobody can be forced to do anything against their will. The ‘control’ misconception appears to originate from stage hypnosis which funnily enough also involves people doing exactly what they want to be doing.
Will I get stuck in hypnosis?
If you want to come out of hypnosis you simply choose to do that. If the hypnotherapist disappeared or fell over and knocked themselves out you would simply come back to full consciousness in your own time. We go in and out of hypnosis and other altered states of consciousness (e.g. daydreaming) many times a day but we always come back out of them easily and naturally.
Will I Tell My Secrets Under Hypnosis?
No. You cannot be forced to say or do anything under hypnosis that you don’t want to. Remember that you are completely in control and empowered.
How Long Do Sessions Last
